Never owned a Magnmum, thinking of a 300 WSM to replace my 06. Two offerings, Browning A bolt or the Winchester. Which has the reputation for the better action and barrel for accuracy? consaider after market trigger work and maybe some bed work.

I'd go with the Winchester. Far more aftermarket goodies. I'd move up to a 300Win Mag or 338Win Mag if you want a real step up from the '06. There is not much difference in performance between the '06 and 300WSM when both are on equal footing.(handloaded form) sure-shot

The winchester is a better rifle. The WSM might not be that much of a step up from an '06, but then again the .300 win mag isn't either. For all intensive purposes the WSM will do what the win mag will, but the '06 isn't that far behind either.
