I replied, and think it is an important issue.

With that said, let's look at this subject from another angle.

How many people on this forum actually believe that ALL Gun Owners, hunters or not, actually support the same concepts of gun ownership that some or many of us do????

The downfall of hunting and gun ownership is going to happen, because ALL gun oweners, whether they are hunters or not, simply can not or will not stand together and present a United Front.

Look at some of the recent petty arguements stirred up on this site that divide us as a group: Is/Was Capstick A Fraud, Would You Hunt With Or Share A Camp With A Gay Person(Nothing seems to have been decided about sharing camp with a couple of lesbians and watching the show, but there definitely seems to be less hostility toward the females), Who's Better, DSC or SCI, and the list goes on and on.

While some of it does provide interesting reading or high drama, not sure which, it serves no other purpose than to affirm the things that seperaste us out into groups, that because of our stance or opinion on those subjects, help to divide us as Gun Owners.

I feel that it is because of those divisions, the Gun Control and Anti-Hunting forces will and are going to be able to impose their will on the rest of us by the 2012 elections in this country.

Right now, the big buzz in Texas is the issue of Open Carry of firearms, and the biggest group against the Open Carry appears to be the folks with Concealed Carry Permits.

What kind of sense does that make?

One opponent of the proposal stated that it was create a situation where a person openly carrying a sidearm, "Might Have The Gun Grabbed From The Holster And Be Shot With It".

Now to me, the odd thing is, the times I have heard of such an incident happening, it was to a police officer trying to apprehend a criminal.

I need to go take my medicine now.

Let's see, the government is broke, or the whole country, and they are planning on buying adjacent lands to NPS lands? bewildered

Those acres are some of the most expensive in the entire country to boot! Ever price one acre near yellostone?

The entire scheme is ridiculous!

thanks for the help, I just recieved a letter from the NRA today they said the NRA has to publish their amount of money in their political warchest next month. They said the anti's will be watching closely to see how much money the NRA has to fight with and this can make a big difference so I am going to send an extra $20 to NRA as well even $5.00 helps. It is very sad we have to fight to keep what is a given right. How did our country get this way.

Kudu56, what is not being told, is that plan about buying up lands adjacent to already held Federal Lands has been in exisrance for a long time.

Out northwest of the DFW MetroMess the LBJ National Grassslands covers 20,000 acres broken up into varying sized parcels.

When the LBJ was set up, many years ago, one of the premises in settig the place up was that the feds were supposed to Buy Any Adjoining Private Property That Went Up For Sale.

The Feds did not make allowances to buy those adjoining lands at what the market price is in todays world.
