LOL, that's what I'd be doing.

Regardless of what the actual score is, that is a fantastic speed goat.

However, I get the feeling that he knows what he's doing, both in the field and with a tape measure.

Yeah, I don't think is 86...looks like 85 5/8ths to me...LoL

I am not big on that B&C stuff.

Although, I am an official scorer for BFBBoB club and I can tell you that he has a certifiable BFA.

In case you don't know me that's my sense of humor.

What I have learned on AR, since 2001:
1. The proper answer to: Where is the best place in town to get a steak dinner? is…You should go to Mel's Diner and get the fried chicken.
2. Big game animals can tell the difference between .015 of an inch in diameter, 15 grains of bullet weight, and 150 fps.
3. There is a difference in the performance of two identical projectiles launched at the same velocity if they came from different cartridges.
4. While a double rifle is the perfect DGR, every 375HH bolt gun needs to be modified to carry at least 5 down.
5. While a floor plate and detachable box magazine both use a mechanical latch, only the floor plate latch is reliable. Disregard the fact that every modern military rifle uses a detachable box magazine.
6. The Remington 700 is unreliable regardless of the fact it is the basis of the USMC M40 sniper rifle for 40+ years with no changes to the receiver or extractor and is the choice of more military and law enforcement sniper units than any other rifle.
7. PF actions are not suitable for a DGR and it is irrelevant that the M1, M14, M16, & AK47 which were designed for hunting men that can shoot back are all PF actions.
8. 95 deg F in Africa is different than 95 deg F in TX or CA and that is why you must worry about ammunition temperature in Africa (even though most safaris take place in winter) but not in TX or in CA.
9. The size of a ding in a gun's finish doesn't matter, what matters is whether it’s a safe ding or not.
10. 1 in a row is a trend, 2 in a row is statistically significant, and 3 in a row is an irrefutable fact.
11. Never buy a WSM or RCM cartridge for a safari rifle or your go to rifle in the USA because if they lose your ammo you can't find replacement ammo but don't worry 280 Rem, 338-06, 35 Whelen, and all Weatherby cartridges abound in Africa and back country stores.
12. A well hit animal can run 75 yds. in the open and suddenly drop with no initial blood trail, but the one I shot from 200 yds. away that ran 10 yds. and disappeared into a thicket and was not found was lost because the bullet penciled thru. I am 100% certain of this even though I have no physical evidence.
13. A 300 Win Mag is a 500 yard elk cartridge but a 308 Win is not a 300 yard elk cartridge even though the same bullet is travelling at the same velocity at those respective distances.

all right fellas'
big heads require some discussion and the photos don't show very well.
sorry i been out of touch ,i'm in n.mex guiding elk hunters.
i did score him myself and came up w/85.6
then took him to a certified scorer who put him at 86.2
some measurment are as follows
lenght@16.3
base mass @6.6
prong @6.4
difference side to side 3/4 of an inch
i found this buck opening morning and took till that afternoon to get close enuf to shoot and missed him, found him the next evening and he
got away again.
let him rest 1 day and walked into his world the next morning and found him and stalked into what the range finder said was 253,but remember thinking he looked farther away than that.
held rite on and missed,he hit the afterburners and running left to rite covered 130-150 yds before making a big swing ending up going staight away,i'm prone on these shots and put the crosshairs at the base of his head and stroked the stw again.
bullet cauht him in the rite flank just in front of the hindquarter and ranged foward taking out his heart and coming to rest under the skin where his esofiguess(sp) exits the rib cage, that being said i had 14 inches of fall on the bullet and that puts him about 450 yds.
he is the biggest goat i've had the pleasure of
killing and i don't hold out much hope for better.
i'm shooting a stock winchester m70
with a 3x9 leopold shooting hand loads of 79.5 of 7828 topped with a 150 grn nosler ballistic tip.
and thanks for all the kind words and i hope all of you get one just like him!

He has a lot of things going for him. I think he is a great one that would scorein the 81 to 84" range. Dr.C

I have had the good fortune to hunt with ravenr for a number of years. If he says it's 86" then it's 86", we both hated hearing people inflate scores.

Congrats Flaco!!! Helluva goat bud! Call me, I'll be out in the plains this year, let's get together
