I received an E-mail from Northwest Airlines this evening that I thought was worth passing on to the members of this forum. Effective 12/15/02, the will be imposing the following fees for checked baggage for travelers in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean: 50-70 pounds, $25.00, 70-100 pounds, $50.00, luggage over 100 pounds will not be accepted. I guess it won't be long before the other airlines follow suit. I've already E-mailed them and advised them that I will no longer fly Northwest if they follow through with this gougeing program. I encourage all members to do the same.
