Results of the drawing are out for Bear in Colorado, guess who didn't get a limited Bear tag this year, yeah thats right me. I'll have to try to pick up an unlimited tag if they are available for the area I draw for Deer or Elk.
My son and my brother were also unlucky.

Lets hear from you lucky Bear applicants out there.
I know my luck will change when the Moose results come out ( about 2 more days)!

So far I've been unlucky in Utah and Colorado for Desert Sheep and of course unlucky on Colorado Bear.

I drew a bear for the Uncompahgre Plateau,
What units do you hunt for Elk And Deer?
I will be spending the next couple of month's
In the Walden, Willow Creek Pass, Gore Pass,
area. Let me know if you draw a Moose tag,
as I have a lot of contacts up there.

Hysider I didn't draw a Moose tag so don't do any scouting for me!
As for Deer and Elk I skip around a bit, accumulating points to hopefully draw a good Buck area or a Bull area. In 2004 I killed the bull Elk of a lifetime on the Uncompahgre but it took 8 preference points then to draw that tag. Last year my 13 year old boy got his first buck outside of Lake George and his first Bull near Eagle we were both pretty excited. I've pretty much hunted all over the state at one time or another but I sure am getting sick of not drawing a decent elk or deer area then scrambling around for a "leftover" tag to piece together some kind of hunt just to get to go every year. Its a shame too when my brothers want to hunt with me and my son and none of us can really draw any tags together because we all have different amounts of points and different agendas. Now that I've killed my big bull I just want to put some decent meat in the freezer each year and maybe get a chance at a big buck someday. Every once and a while I'd like to draw a Moose or Desert Sheep or Bear tag but my luck hasn't been good.
Good luck with the Bear.
