Does anyone here know any cattle ranches/outfitters around the Ruby Mountains? My Dad and I drew mz tags for the area and are now thinking of paying a trespass fee and wanted to see if anyone here has used anyone?

there are lots of areas you can access without landowner permission
Look up Jiggs Nv, outside of Elko. Above Jiggs Harrisson Pass road and Genetti Creek and Smith Creek road/drainages, both good deer areas with access.

For the monsters look real high in the Apens or real low in the Bitterbrush

There is good access at the south end of the Ruby Crest Trail off Harrison pass, and I got a nice big 3X4 with a muzzle loader a few years back there. You can drop a hunter on top and pick him up down the mountain on a road to the north that is back in a bit and parallels the main road over Harrison. I've seen deer all the way from bottom to top there.

A 4X4 is necessary to get to most of the farther in access trails. As far as trespass fees, I've never found anyone who offers that.

Anymore too many people from that State west of nevada have moved into the areas along the base of the range and protect "their deer". Some of the old ranches I used to access through are now owned by the kids, as the older owners died and divided up property, or in some cases corporations have acquired them.

You might look into a possible drop hunt and pack out.

These guys might be able to help you find someone if they can't.

They offer cabins on the ranch and unguided hunts through the ranch to back country, as well as guided hu8nts.
