I have an opportunity to go after some speed goats around Craig Co. Wondering what area is the best to put in for. Any info would be appreciated.

Several of the areas around Craig are very good but also require quite a few points to draw. Are you looking at a landowner tag? Units 3 and 301 are both very good.

Here's a link to the min preference point data from 2010:

DC, thanks for the info. We had already thought it would be those areas. Wow 5 bonous points to hunt those areas for rifle. We may have an chance at a landowner voucher. If we do, you still need to have the 5 bonus points?

Landowner voucher doesn't require any points. There are some really nice antelope in those units. A friend took a monster in 301 two years ago on public land.

Sorry, but no voucher = no hunt, so hopefully you guys have that worked out. Hell, thats about the same for ANYWHERE in CO with decent goat populations. There is some ok public land stuff, but by and large, if you don't have arranged private access, you just ain't gonna hunt.

If you think every possible niche has been filled already, thank a wildcatter!
