Well we just got our mounts from last years Kansas hunt in. 3 shoulder mounts in one 'box'.

Some of my co-workers really liked the pic of the box with all 3 deer in it.

This is my buddy Mark's, it has 6 1/2" bases!

This guy is mine, he came out really well I think. It's good to finally have him on the wall!

Thanks guys, there is a lot of bone in that box!

I guess they were just trying to balance the box Frank, my assistant asked the same thing --SERIOUSLY--

Take care--Don

Don,

I am just as envious today as when you posted the field pictures of that buck. Your mount turned out great.

Thanks Mark, I know you see a lot of deer, appreciate your view.
Yeah Hot Core, I wouldn't pass these if I see their twin!
Doug, good to hear from you--Thanks.

Doc, you have an uncanny eye for taxidermy, they are in fact Meder forms!

The Taxidermist was Collin Campbell, and he is a former Smithsonian institute taxidermist, and multiple time national champion. The detail is nice, I hope we can bring him some more work this year!

Don,

Good work! BTW are you hrunting with your 75 or your new 85 this year? How did the final load development and sight in go on the new rifle? What are your thoughts on the 85 after playing with it for a few weeks? Thanks. Hugh

Hey Hugh, good to hear from you. I am in fact taking my 85 on my 2 out of state trips this year for whitetail. I ended up with a load using 140 gr XXX's that is awesome, sub 1/2 minute! I'm, going to Texas hill country, followed up by our Kansas trip. Here in Georgia, I've been putting one of my Sauer 202's in play, .270 as well, 150 gr BT's.

On the Antelope hunt I went on back in September, I took one of my 75's that Hill Country rifles had re-barreled and 'accurized' including sticking it in a new McMillan 75 stock. It may get the duty for a late season goat hunt as well, it shoots the 130 gr CT/BT's like a charm.

I've really become fond of the 85, I like it's slimmer stock, and it shoots!

Take Care--Don

Josh, we self hunt on some property we pay trespass fees to hunt on. We have hunted the same ranchers properties for 2 years now, and are going back for number 3 this year. We hunt 3 or 4 different pieces of land he owns or leases to run cattle on. We have had good success, and plan on making this an annual adventure for many years to come.

We do a few pre season visits to confirm patterns and check stands etc. and then get right to business when season opens. Kansas has some great whitetails!

Regards--Don
