These are from Abe Dougan of Big Boar Outfitters. He emailed me a couple of cat kills 2 years ago and I posted those as well. The cats are HUGE in BC.

I do not know how much they weighed. I'm not even sure Abe would know, but I'll email him and ask.

Abe emailed me back and said the cat held by the lady weighed 162 and they guessed the wt. of the tom held by the man at 180 and it DID go B&C.

Doc, did you hunt with Big Boar Outfitters?? I have been wondering about a bear hunt with them.... Any experience shared would be much appreciated!

Mike, I've been wanting to hunt with Abe for about 3 years now and it just has not worked out in my schedule.

A couple of years in a row, he emailed me a photo of every bear killed and I didn't see one that looked to weigh less than 350 pounds or have at least a 19.5" skull. They were all very massive.

He stood on the tailgate of his truck with a hunter, holding up an 8 ft cinnamon and even though their arms were stretched high, the skinned bear hide still touched the ground.

The word is, if you hunt with Abe, you will hunt and hunt hard. If you are in the big bears, you may sleep in the truck and not bother going back to camp. He works very very hard to get you your bears.

I'm sort of making a promise to myself to go next spring come hell or high water.
