Just talked to a guy the other day. Mike coplo of lazy j bar O in big timber. He sells hunts going in of monture creek i beleive he said. The bob can be feast or famine. It is pretty cool to have a rifle in your hands during the elk rut. There are a Couple guys on the east side too that have been at it for a couple generations. They go in from Benchmark and it is an amazing horseback ride in.
I outfitt in the bighole and private land stuff in the Bull Mountains so cant help you with my areas. Good luck, be prepared for long horseback rides and amazing scenery.

The Bob is a tough hunt as the elk are few and far between now since the plethora of wolves and bears. The pro is a rifle hunt in the rut. You will definately need an outfitter as using pack animals is a must. I have a friend who I work with and they have hunted the last 2 years there and they ride in and no one has tagged out.

Sun Canyon Lodge out of Augusta in the Sun River Canyon. Josh Carlbom is the outfitters name. They have been there for a good while and the lodge makes a good burger.

I've not hunted with them. Just know who they are and stop in when I am fishing/hiking that area.

One of my good friends runs a large camp in the bob and sadly the last few years the success on elk is very low and the ones taken are rag horns. Not much better on deer. Beautiful place but tough to find something to shoot.
