I am looking at the Foodsaver Pro II. Is this overkill?
I have never used one of these before but my firend has one and swaers by them. I hate dealing with freezer paper!

I'm a professional chef. I have used pro machines at work for 20 years, and have the FoodSaver Professional II at home. I can't say that model is overkill as I have never used their less expensive one, but I wouldn't be without one at home. The FoodSaver Pro II is an adequate home machine used properly. It beats any other method of wrapping food for freezing, or other refrigerated storage.

Definintely worth the investment. We got one 2 years ago. Made the job faster, cleaner, and the meat keeps much longer.
