On the subject of a rifle for long range work, how about one of the Lazzeroni Sakos in the 7.21 or 7.82 long version? Anybody have any real world field experience with these rifles? A local so called "rifle expert" told me they were junk. But I think his "vast" experience may have only consisted of one or two range sessions but by his own admission he "knows rifles and if he can't make it shoot nobody can." Bye the way, this guy also built a single shot 7mm STW on a Mauser 96 and lived to tell about it. Thanks for the replies Good Shooting, HBB

hillbillybear, I have shot a few of Lazzeroni's own rifles, and they all shot extremely well. I also think they are very wellmade. As to the Sakos sold by Lazzeroni, I have no experience. But, Sako rifles are very well made, and I have not had a single one that dod not shoot well. I would imagine I must have had several hundreds thought here. The specs for the 7.82 Warbird are very similar to our own 30/404, which I have used in South Africa last June. It is probably the ultimate long range hunting caliber. If you have a broadband connection, check out the video section, you will find a few of animals shot with this rifle.
