For some time I've been thinking about a lightwieght S/S handy rifle. Initially I was leaning toward the mod. Seven but since it is not really much handier than a 700 I have gone to the Titanuim.

Caliber of choice is the 7mm-08 I think it's sufficient for just about anything non dangerous abroad and does nicely for my local stuff, and still light enough to be nice to shoot in a 6lb(scoped) rifle.

I would still like to get a mod. 7 in .300SAUM but I figure I would use the Titanuim 7mm-08 more around here so there's no immediate need.(no immediate need for a Titanuim either )

What can anyone tell me about the Titanum?

I purchased a Remington Titanium in 7mm-08 last spring and have been very happy with it.

I have to take my time at the range between shots to make sure barrel doesn't heat up too much but have been able to shoot 1/2" 3 shot groups and 3/4" 5 shot groups with Nosler 140 BT and Varget.

I glass bedded action after developing a load and it didn't seem to make much difference in group sizes.

Enjoy your rifle.
