Gonna be a lean year for our clan. The wife got an antelope tag and I pulled another deer tag for the desert muzzleloader hunt. Everything else was red. Bummer. Come on Wyoming!

How'd you fellas do?

Evidently it's an epidemic

Just talked to another friend and he went 0 for 6, his wife went 0 for 4 and his Son went 0 for 3 even as a youth hunt applicant.

Another friend 0'ferd for the 3rd year in a row

One buddy drew the same Barbary hunt as me and a bow antelope hunt in rattlesnake country.

To draw in this state you just need to live in another!

I drew an "Any Weapon" ibex!

Two trips to New Mexico for me this year, my 13 year old daughter drew a Rhodes Canyon oryx tag.

Damn, I better start saving some money!

After NEVER drawing anything, this year my son drew a mule deer/rifle in Unit 24 and I drew any fork antlered deer muzzle loader in Pecos and a cow elk/rifle in Unit 16C... Should I also buy a lottery ticket?

I hope you know someone with land in 24. We were there last year and were disappointed.

16C should be fun!
Congrats!

I'm a cheap date, I dont drink alcohol but I'll drink my body weight in Tea, good thing refills are free!

You all should plan on staying with me on your way down, I'm about halfway and we love company. We could get together with Jeff and Madie as well and grab dinner.

Talk to you soon

My group drew deer tags for NM. First time in my life ever got drawn for anything other than shit detail on a job. Looks like the Colorado OTC elk hunt will be on hold for a year.

Antelope 1-121 and oryx in February.

Do you think NM will trade me these 2 fine tags for 1 little ol' sheep?

No Elk tag again this year, but I did draw a deer tag. I didn't draw anything last year so this is a big improvement.

Just talked to my guide, it has entered unit 15 and has spread 400,000 acres and there is 0% containment thus far. Let hope for lots of rain soon.

Thanks!

I hunt 15 a lot and see that the Wallow Fire is pretty much there. I read that the residents of Luna have been directed to prepare for evacuation, though the order has not been given. Locally, the electric company is telling us to prepare for rolling blackouts as the fire will likely interrupt power transmission from Palo Verde generating station. Fun times. Hopefully the critters escape the fire and we get enough rain later this summer to bring some vegetation back to the burned areas.

Are you outfitting in NM now too? I've seen some posts where you talked about how you awarded extra permits in NM but didnt put it all together until you mentioned that you had a guide there. I always thought you were just a booking agent
