Like others...hate is a strong word. But I can honestly say I have no use for any ultramags.

30-06,
Cause everytime I get the latest and greatest, some fool will always ask why I didn't get a 30-06. One of these days I'm going to think of a decent answer to that question.

.243. Has probably wounded almost as much game as a 30-30.

I guess I put in my .02 worth!

Anything with RUM, WSM, Weatherby or SAUM after it.

I never met a cartridge I didnt like. Weapons are another story. Assault rifles and Half rifle half pistols I have no use for whatsoever.

Dont really hate any of them, but have no use for:

17 HMR
17 Remington
Any foreign something x something millimeter
30-30 Win
308 Win
30-06
Anything larger than 300 Winchester Magnum

Dont really care much for shotguns either, but I dont mind my 20 gauge during dove season.

Not hate but useless and redundant.

Any cartridge developed after 1925. Except the .223 [Big Grin]

Can't see how a person can "hate" something that's just a brass case with powder and a bullet in it.Now I've disliked a few rifles I've owned but that's how you get to know what's good for you and what's not.Had a Savage bolt action 30-30 that was crap, and a couple Savage 110's.I have loaded and shot the 222,223,220Swift,22~250,243,6mm,257Rob,25~06,270,7RemMag,300Win,30~30,300 Savage,30-06 and 308.I liked everyone of them. All accelerated the bullet out of the barrel at just the speed I expected them to.Some were more accurate than others but that's more a function of the rifle than the cartridge. After the bullet leaves the case it doesn't care what's stamped on the head of it.What I hate are people who have such a fondness, reverence or blind faith for a particular cartridge that they are prevented from appreciating other cartridges that do the same thing or nearly so.You know..the 222 shooters who "hate" the 223,the 280 shooters who "hate" the 7 Rem Mag, the 30-06 shooters who "hate" the 308,the 220 Swift shooters who "hate" the 22-250 and on and on and on.And then there are shooters who simply "hate" anything with Weatherby on it,or Lazzeroni or whatever manufacturer thay decide to "hate".Strange behaviour for grown men IMHO.You want to hate something?,hate the antigunners, hate the bunny huggers and hate the gun grabbers in government.Seems like a waste of time and energy to "hate" particular cartridges when there are other more deserving targets.....

Any of the new "washing machine" Ultra Magnums - gets it cleaner and brighter - WSM etc etc rounds.

Because they are just regurgitated marketing hype.

Not that there's anything wrong with these cartridges, but for no tangible reason, I just don't care for them.

Weatherby
Ultra Mag
SAUM
WSM
WSSM
30-06
308
300 Win Mag
8mm Rem
250-3000 Savage
6mm Rem
I am sure I missed a few, but at least it's a start. [Big Grin]

Any rifle cartridge that is NOT a Weatherby, RUM, RSAUM, WSM, or WSSM besides of course .22 lr. All those 30'06, 270, 308 types are old news.
Actually, I don't mind these cartridges so much as I dislike the people who believe that there is no need for new cartridges.
There's no such thing as a poor cartridge, just people who don't know how to use it.

The 308 Winchester......

When I was in college I had my 270 and my three buddies all used 308's...We would end up in countless ( and meaningless) arguements over why one was better than the other....Since then I have a natural prejudice towards the 308 even though I own two Model 88's in the caliber.......Big K

I really disliked the old 32special cartridge for hunting, and flintlock muzzleloaders also the old 12ga punkin balls.

Well, I don't like anything with a muzzlebrake. It's just too loud for me, I'd rather take the recoil.

I also don't like the 270. I think the 30-06 is better. I shoot an 06 but it's a very boring caliber. I don't like 45 caliber muzzleloaders. The one I dislike the most is the 7mm-08, why I don't know, I just don't like it. (not that it don't do a good job though).

I really like the 30-30 though. Great little gun that really shines at around 75 yards. My favorite would be the 308. It'll do about anything an 06 will do. I also like 45-70's and 444's.

I agree with Ray and have to say that hating any gun is not for me. We do not have to like them but its the person behind the trigger that determines what happens most the time. If it does not shot straight it is the load, gun or shooter not the caliber. I shot my first deer many moons ago with a 25-20 win at 5 feet and was just as happy as when I pulled a lucky 600 yard shot on a bull elk with a 300 win mag. Each one has its place in history, our memories and our future but never should any be forgotten or left behind. olefish
