Mounts, hero shot, anything. I am booked for a predator hunt in West Texas, and cant wait to shoot one of the Big West Texas Bobcats.
With my Mt Lion from last year, the bobcat this Feb, and my Lynx hunt the following February, I will have hopefully completed the NA Cat slam. SmilerSmiler
THanks in advance,

Who are you going with and where are you going? Just curious.

The Hunt goes on forever, the season never ends.

I didn't learn this by reading about it or seeing it on TV. I learned it by doing it.

There are a few close-up photos at different angles of that mount in this thread.

Crappy iPhone pics. Last year and this past season's cats. I shot another one this past season but no pics.

How did everyone do with prices this year? My #2 son averaged $725 on his. It was a good year for cats.

Good luck on the hunt, and don't forget to post plenty of photos! I can't get out to hunt, trap or call them anymore, but I did snipe these 6 when their pelts were prime this past December & January. Below that is one of the chunkier toms I have taken. I've been lucky to take quite a few over the years but do regret that I didn't take photos of most of those back then.

If I may add my 2 cents here also. IMHO, bobcats should not be mounted with the "snarl" look with their teeth bared etc. It really doesn't look natural.

I've seen Bobcats "treed" by hounds and they still didn't "growl" or bare their teeth like I've seen on some life size mounts.

Again, just my opoinion but I've seen some horrible looking mounts because of this.

Good Point Ryan. tu2 tu2 tu2

In all my time hunting javelina and guiding javelina hunters, I have never seen one do the "Standard" mouth open way most folks have them done.

Here is a pic of the last bobcat I shot, got this one a couple of hundred yards behind the house with my .35 Whelen.

Even the rocks don't last forever.
