Took a nice little bull yesterday morning with my new .375 h&h..The 260 grain accubond hit just behind front shoulder and wound up smashing the top of the back leg on the opposite side..More damage than I would have liked..Seems odd to smash the bone after travelling through the chest cavity..I am new to this big of a gun..A little more oomph than my /06..Fastest knock down I have seen on a moose.Just have to be more careful with my shots I guess.

Congratulations on the moose. I like your choice of calibers. I have taken an elk & a deer with a .375 & love it.

Did you retrieve the bullet? Weight retention? Seems the accubond is taking a lot of negative heat and I would be interested in this size bullet performance i.e. weight retention.

Havent found the bullet yet..It took out the liver and did not do much else intil it went into the hind quarter and hit the leg bone and did terrible damage there..I cut out a big chunk of meat and felt around and it seems a small piece exited and some shrapnel damage but it might be from the big bone chunks that were everywhere in the meat.

Congrats on the moose!

A grand old cartridge --- one of my favorites! I have used the 375 H&H on elk (300 gr. partitions) and it does put them down nicely without any tracking or having to make CNS shots to anchor them. I saw the same thing, the ability to just bust right thru any bones that get in the way and just keep right on going.
