Can anyone direct me to some plans on how to make a 2 person ladder stand. My 12yr old wants to hunt this year and I thought a ladder stand would be perfect until I saw the prices $200.00 or more.
I thought I could build one out of treated lumber for a whole lot less.

How about considering two metal stands placed up to the same tree or one close nearby? I buy the 15' stands at Galyan's for about $60 each. Cabela's and Gander Mtn have them for about the same price. With separate stands next to each other I think you'd have more room, and as he develops his skills you can move his stand around to cover more ground. I never tried to build a wooden, portable stand but I'd wager the metal ones would be lighter and easier to move about. Just a thought. The important thing is your son wants to go hunting!!
