Its been awhile since I've had any real luck drawing tags but talked to the Division of Wildlife today and my son and I have statewide (with exceptions)bull elk tags for Colorado. September 13thru 21.
I am sending off today for our NEF/H&R in line barrels, then the tuning up of the rifles starts in earnest.
Good luck to all of you in the drawing.

Congrats! You should be able to whack a good bull on this one. Hopefully you can get a californian to let you hunt their ranch!

I wonder how they can tell you that you have the license. According to the website, the results for the drawing for elk won't be out until the 10th of June.

Did they move the drawing up? I don't have any thing under my CC# for elk yet.

Was told yesterday by a lady there in Denver that I'd drawn a December cow tag.

Usually ten days to two weeks before the data hits the website the people in the DOW office know.
My brother did not draw his RFW tag and now has 16 Elk points.

How did you do on antelope. I know you hunt out not far from where we go. My son and I both drew bucks this year, last year we had land owner vouchers.

skb2706, my brother and I put in for unit 11 and we drew those tags for buck Antelope. I had 10 points and my brother had 9 and that area takes 9 to draw, hopefully some big Antelope in our future. Last year my son drew a buck Antelope near Karval, CO and my brother and I had doe tags (second choice in the draw). How did you all do on the Antelope draw?

Graybird, it is time to meet for that beer!

I am now waiting for the Deer results to be posted so I know what the rest of my fall looks like.
Good luck to you all in the drawings.

Graybird,
Give me a holler sometime and I'll let you in on some good places I go. Got my doe antelope permit while building points for the place I go for bucks.

Sure will! Always need any edge I can get. What are the chances of picking up a leftover doe antelope permit, when they are opened up?

We're due east of Karval not all that far. My son and I both drew bucks but we also have some access to landowner vouchers. Pretty much assures us of a license of some kind for antelope every year. Good luck to you and yours let us know how you did. We were out scouting a couple weeks back....drove thru Karval. Not much going on in Karval if it were any smaller it would be a fence post.lol take care

On leftover doe antelope, it varies year to year. Most times there are some available.
Slight topic change, got my antelope permit yesterday and a December cow elk tag. These elk tags aren't even supposed to be out until next week!

skb2706, you should try growing up out there if you don't think much is going on! I always managed to find somthing to get into. Wink What unit were you hunting out east of Karval? Were you hunting close to Haswell and Eads or closer to Wild Horse and Kit Carson? My Dad still ranches out in units 120 and 121.

tay - my sister and her husband farm out past Kit Carson...122. Last trip out we drove back dirt roads all the way up past Hugo. Basically took the Sand Creek route home. I manage to make it out that way about once a month or just often enough to not get in the way of farming too much. Also have some gym friends that live out east of Kiowa so I have traveled the area alot.

side note - I also got my elk license, antelope license and fishing license all in one envelope yesterday...even tho the results weren't supposed to be out for five more days.
