GS bullets...are they shipping orders?

Gentlemen:

'Bout a month ago GS bullets debited my credit card for two boxes of 30 cal HV bullets. They have not been delivered. E-mail has not been answered (only sent one) and can't raise GS on the phone. Are they still operating? Has anyone had contact with them recently?

Thanks,

Jordan

Jordan,

Gerald responded to a simular post on the Africa forum here.

Just to let you know, I just received my order of bullets from them the other day.

I suspected, and Gerald comfirmed, that there were shipping delays due to the Sept 11th events, and the holidays.

I bet you'll see your order soon.

BTW, I shot my first load of GS "HP" bullets in .416, and was pleased with the results.

It's not easy, ordering from half a world away, with South Africa's less than stellar postal service, but it's worth the wait.

FWIW, I just ordered a lousy sight post and a set of 1911 stocks from Brownell's this morning, and they warned me the mail could take as long as 3 weeks because of all the anthrax BS (as always, the reaction to the "threat" is worse than the threat could ever be ). Add to that another 10,000 miles and an international border, and it's not hard to see it taking a long time.

Guys, it was taking 10 weeks BEFORE September. I sure hope Gerard gets this distributor thing set up soon. It should not take 10 weeks to get a box of bullets.

Speaking of which, GERARD! If you would like some suggestions of outfits that are interested, drop me an e-mail..... Dutch.

I ordered some HV bullets on Nov. 11, 2001. It took 8 weeks to get to Mississippi. If I remember correctly that is a little faster than the time before.

Well I ordered mine back in July 2001 and they still haven't arrived I have sent a number of emails some answered some not. I was hoping to get them before the end of the year, but no luck. I don't know what else to do but wait.

Gentlemen!

I received the note from customs department to pick up my bullets (and pay the taxes of course) today!

The bullets have been sent on October 8th 2001 and arrived in Austria/Europe on January 14th 2002 - more than 3 months from RSA to Austria/Europe.

Thank good I've ordered Priority Mail, how long it would be on ground shipping I really don't want to find out!

Keep on waiting - they will come to you also!

Franz

Good news! I got a notice from the Post Office that I have a package from South Africa waiting for me. I ordered on October 16th so that would be 13 weeks.
