Hello AR members, My hunting partner and I would like to plan a trip in Texas to hunt Nilgai w/ an outfitter, if possible. We will be in Dallas in mid Jan. for the DSC Convention and would like to combine a hunt later. He has contacted numerous ranches and outfitters down there but has only a few responses / this after trying many? We thought the people on this site may know of a ranch or an outfitter they could recommend to us? We would appreciate it very much. Thank you all in advance. NRA Life Benefactor member Brittman

I know it would still be quite a drive, but my dad has hunted nilgai on the King Ranch. He didn't have any complaints, took a couple great animals and the meat was delicious. "Conservation through Hunting"

There are a number of high fence ranches that offer Nilgai in Texas. If you prefer free range Nilgai, check out the Norias division of the King ranch. I've hunted there myself and have two hunts booked over the next 45 days! Safari James USMC DRSS

I had a great meat hunt for a tasty cow nilgai a few years ago on The Armstrong Ranch. This is the (in)famous ranch where Dick Cheyney shot his buddy while quail hunting. It's 60+K acres, near The King Ranch. We saw loads of nilgai and had a great hunt. You'll need to hunt in deep south TX b/c nilgai cannot survive north TX winters.

My vote is for king ranch! If you want meat, ask about some yearling bulls.

This is the one I have been looking at doing. Even the rocks don't last forever.

I have hunted the Armstrong Ranch with B&B twice, Lendell Laxton with L&L Outfitters on the Yturria a half-dozen times and Sam Ilse with Lomas Chicas. My best hunts were with Lendell and Sam. Google them for prices and availability. On the plains of hesitation lie the bleached bones of ten thousand, who on the dawn of victory lay down their weary heads resting, and there resting, died.
