First, many thanks to Saeed for permission to post this here.

A friend and fellow AR member and I have started an independent fundraiser for the Veteran charity Mission 22. Our fundraiser is simply called "The Mission 22 Truck"

Mission 22 is a Veteran charity dedicated to eliminating the 22 veteran suicides that happen every day.

We have our promo video online now. It is a short 90 second clip. Everyone has 90 seconds they can spare right. Smiler

Also, I want everyone to know that we now have our own donation link active. You can find it on our website link below. No need for a PayPal account, just a credit card.

Donate to Mission 22 Truck

Thank you to the members who have already donated. We appreciate your support.

Who We Are

"The Mission 22 Truck"
is a 5 ton military cargo vehicle that serves as the main attraction, it is our traveling fundraising machine! (M923A2 for you ex-military guys!) If you have ever seen a 5-ton, you understand what a huge machine this is! The tires are 48” tall as a reference.

It get’s attention wherever we go!

What we do We raise money for Mission 22 through cookouts, T-Shirt sales, Raffles and giveaway's (if state and local laws allow) and, my favorite, The Pay a Buck, Sign the Truck Program

You Make a donation to Mission 22 and sign the tarp, write your own story, or write a message of encouragement on the tarp of the truck. This has been very successful so far and some of the messages are moving. (we have already done a test run in Idaho last week).

Our First customer

When June 18 and July 4-31.

Where

We have stops all along a route from Idaho to Texas. Some dates and venues already finalized, some are still in the works. You can see updated info, dates and times on our website and Facebook page.

We will start in Rexburg ID. June 18th at the Airshow
Rexburg ID again on July 4th - 4th of July parade, and set up in the park for the fair afterwards
Salt Lake City
Colorado Springs
Amarillo
Dallas TX - 23 July - Tailwaters Fly Fishing shop
Frisco TX 30th July - Frisco Roughriders Baseball Game
Frisco TX 31st July, Location to be finalized soon

This idea is quite new. We have only been working on this for 3 weeks now. We have come a long way and accomplished a lot!

What we need We need more sponsors. A handful of people have made this all come together so far. People who have given money and time to make this work. People who have paid for our grill and people who have paid for the T-shirts.

We need sponsors to cover our overhead, because we have pledged that every dollar we bring in goes to Mission 22. Not $.10 on the dollar, the full $1!

You spend $4 for a burger, Mission 22 gets $4. $15 for the T-shirt, Mission 22 gets $15.

So, why not just donate to Mission 22 directly? Well, you can, and I encourage it. But, when you sponsor The Mission 22 Truck the money you donate gets multiplied and sent to Mission 22.

If you would like to be a sponsor, please email me. Sponsors names are featured on the truck’s tarp, the website and on the T-shirts.

We are working hand in hand with Mission 22 to make this trip a huge success. So, when you donate money for The Mission 22 Truck, the money goes directly to Mission 22.

You can donate by check or credit card. You will receive a tax deductible receipt for your donation.

Wendell:

Since you'll be driving this thru Pueblo.
Take a day or two and contact: (Steve Henson) shenson@chieftain.com. He runs the local paper and will put you in touch with the right folks to set up at the Home of Heroes plaza. You'll be over whelmed by Pueblo's greetings, displays and generosity.

IT would be a real shame to go thru here and not stop down there. 8' statues of MOH guys, big collection of pictures and stories in the building dedicated solely to Medal of Honor awardee's. Drew Dix is one of four from here, too bad he's the only survivor now. Pueblo will host the MOH Society some time this summer I believe.

Check it out: homeofheroes@Pueblo.com

Best wishes,
George

Heym, thank you! That is a big help!

George, I'll look into it. We could possibly fit another event in. The problem is that it would be a weekday event since Our weekends are booked, and it can be tough to draw a weekday crowd. Let me see what what we can do.

With advanced publications any day will result in a big turn out here. This is what this town is noted for: "heroes" Big deal in Pueblo.
That's why I suggested Steve, he runs the paper here. No doubt he'd assign another writer to cover it, but, he's the one to contact.

Send him an e'mail: shenson@chieftain.com

Good luck, look fwd to reading about it and likely go down to visit too. IF I'm not out of town that day.

George
