Luckily the hunter and his son from Arizona that hunted with me the weekend after Christmas knew how to use their camera. This one is of the Dad and his 168 pound boar. This is one of the kid and his first deer, his doe weighed in at 108 pounds. Here is one of both animals. Even the rocks don't last forever.

Yes, that is with guts. Had another one killed this past Wednesday that went 118 live weight. Around here, at least from what I have experienced over the years, a doe over 120 pounds is big for this area. Around here normal weight range for the bucks is 140 to 170, with anything over 170 pounds being considered big. Even with all the supplemental feeding that takes place, between the drought/competition from feral hogs/decreased amounts of natural browse and too many deer, all contribute to these animals around here simply not being able to put on the weight that they should. Even the rocks don't last forever.

they have some good memories and some fine eating. I have noticed down south people take a deer home to field dress. I don't think its practiced much in the north. At least not around the northeast. Great job When there's lead in the air, there's hope!!!!

The reason we do it is because of our management program on the properties we hunt. We also try to get an estimated age on the animals we kill, especially the bucks. As Bruce has seen, all of our properties are within just a few miles of our cabin and I can drive within a short distance of animals that are killed, so can get them loaded up and back to our cleaning station pretty quickly. It just gives us an idea as too the effectiveness of the management plans the boss has in place. Even the rocks don't last forever.

yea you can usually drive to your kill. we drag! its good to get as much weight off you can. I have known of people to drag a big buck for 4 or 5 miles just to show someone. Me it comes out in the pack. When there's lead in the air, there's hope!!!!
