I drew a Wyoming Mule Deer tag for September in unit 143 near Jackson. I will be hunting with Great Plains Outfitters.

Great Plains Outfitters

Has anyone hunted with or know of these folks? It's a horseback hunt which my dressage competing wife finds particularly amusing. I guess I'll take some riding lessons between now and then. It sounds like a great adventure. Hopefully we won't be passed by ATVs all day.

LOL Sounds like she's the one who could give you the riding lessons! Have fun on your hunt.

No one ever hunted 143 "South Piney" in Wyoming?

Leaving in a couple weeks and anxious to hear from anyone... starting riding lessons Saturday!

I've done two hunts just south of Jackson, 04-05. Great country, saw lottsa game. Filled my bull and buck tags both years. Yea, I would make it a priority to get some riding lessons in. You should have a great hunt--post some pics.

Why are you asking for references for the outfitter AFTER you booked with him?

thanks philny1 and MrHawg, I've called references on the outfitter that had great things to say.

This is supposed to be a good area so was just surprised not to hear from anyone else had actually hunted the area either solo or with any outfitter.
