Anyone draw? Results show me unsuccesful on elk, but deer or antelope no results, yet nieghbor and two of my sons show success and unsuccesful on deer and antelope. Oldest son applied for a deer area in our backyard, one and only choice, yet he drew a deer area just out side Rawlins! bewildered

58 is a good area. I have worked down there but never applied for it. There have been some good rains and snows across the southern part of the state, so forgage should be good.

We all drew our Antelope tags, but we put in a 100% draw region, so not really a surprise. We'll be heading to Region 7 in October...

The wife and I both got antelope (buck and two does each) and I got a general deer tag. We've been quite successful in years past and hope to continue our lucky streak this fall.

I drew a nice tag on the other side of Hwy 80. I looked at the odds and they put me and my buddy in the random draw. They had 6 tags and we drew 2! I’ll be holding out for a B&C goat this year!

Good luck! beer

We drew antelope tags for buck in Unit 70, our 2nd choice, and for Does in Unit 73 in the Casper area. Looking at the maps it looks like Unit 70 is pretty small in size and according to Eastman's it is a marginal unit. It is our first antelope hunt so we're just looking forward to the whole experience of the hunt. Anybody have any thoughts or opinions on the plusses and minuses of those units. There does look like a reasonable percentage of the areas as walk in. We will be hunting the first week of October. What kind of hunting pressure can we expect?

good luck to all,
Thanks
Paul

You know, we should really should have a group discussion about if the 25-06 is suitable for elk or not. I wonder if anyone has any opinions on the matter?

I saw a guy lay a 650lb cow elk out from over 100 yards with a single shot .223 with a 55 grain bullet. I think it's probably the best elk round out there. rotflmo

We drew two doe antelope tags in our favorite area but buck tags were a no-go. They gave out less than 10 buck tags in the area.

Area 27 for our antelope group this year. We always apply for doe tags so the chances are better and you get to take home more meat. No stress about how big the bucks are, etc. It's a nice trip.
