L. David KeithA new trend to introduce children to anti-hunting
I'm sure most of you by now have at least heard the word "app's" or applications for your cell phone, I-pod, Zune, computer (the list goes on). Well, have you heard about all these new "animal" apps popping up? Just this morning AOL announced new apps for;
1. Green Spot - We are Fighting Global Warming! Together we can make a difference.
2. Farm Town - Design, grow and maintain your own farm and even send gifts to your friends.
3. Pet Society - Adopt a pet, dress it up, decorate your house, and visit friends!
And finally for those with small brains and large frontal brow's:
4. Cheers - Pass out a Round of Drinks to your friends and get drunk!
What better way to inform children that all animals should be "part of the family" and eat, drink and sleep with us. This list is long. You can now have your own zoo while drunk! I think most of you can see where this is going. Try explaining to your 7 year old why you killed his "brother" Bambi. Getting drunk is fine, just don't kill our brothers and sisters.

Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......
"If you're being chased by a Lion, you don't have to be faster than the Lion, you just have to be faster than the person next to you."

daniel77These are Facebook games that, I guess, have now made it to the Iphone. Most of them have been around for a while. They are for people with too much time on their hands. Kinda like internet forums. lol

don444I think that kind of thing is pathetic. Just another way to homogenize everybody into their way of thinking!

IowanicI guess I'm not seeing what the issue here is.
For some folk, pets are part of the family, at least in some aspects. Raising and caring for a pet was considered a rite of passage in my family. We kids wanted pets; because we at first saw it as a way to more privledges. My father was pretty smart about such things and well knew that by the time the critters were full-grown; the desired priledges we'd set out to reach, paled beside the lessons and obstcals overcome in raising the animals.
