I would like to take my 34 year old son whitetail deer hunting in South Texas. Both of us are experienced and we would want a place where we can expect shots at something 150 or better. Thanks for any recommendations.

Be glad to help but very short of information such as budget, type hunt (guided, high fence, low fence, etc). S. Texas is probably close to the size of Florida so you can expect a lot of diversity in your hunt so much more info would be helpful.

Looks like a great guy but he is in the Texas Hill Country, not South Texas.

Feel free to call me - I am going on a hunt in South TX on an 18,000 acre low fence ranch that hasn't been hunted commercially for 10 years. Trophy bucks are around $5500 and mgt (up to mid 140's) are about $3000. Larry Weishuhn told me to hold out until the last day for a 170 and a 160 should be pretty easy. My # is 859-608-9331...

Good Hunting,

$5500 for a 160-170 would be a heck of a deal. I will have to see the pictures.

Tim, that is a much better deal than Larry has posted all over his loscazadores.com website by his underwriting outfitters who START at $8-9,000 for their 160-170 deer and then move on up to +$500" over about 180 class.

Not to say that it can't be done just that that type deer is getting pretty expensive in S. Texas these days.
