PT, I don't think you can get much better than the Ballist Tip for long range shots. I user the 140 with 57gr IMR4831 in my .280. Very accurate. The heavier bullets do have a higher BC, but I like the extra velocity. The additional drop at 500yds is only 3 inches or so with the 140s in my real word testing. BTW, I shot a small buck last fall at 21 paces (out of my bow stand). I hit the spine just behind the shoulder. Needless to say, he went straight down. It took out 3 vertebrae and lodged under the skin.

Use that 140 BT and never look back.... My rifle shoots it at around 3000 fps...I've taken a deer and a bull caribou between 350 and 500 and a few other animals over 300... Works great......

I would suggest experimenting with Hornady's Light Magnum loads. It's a 139 grain moly-coated soft point traveling around 3100 fps and it was particularly devastating on springbok in South Africa this year. I was fortunate to get quite a bit of shooting in and probably harvested nearly 30 animals with it. I had great results to 300 yards and beyond. Might be a good one to try. Don Martin.
