A buddy and I did the bear hunt four or five years ago. We had a great time and he got a nice bear. I would definitely do the hunt again.

Great hunting there.
I've hunted Merriam turkey and bear there.
Alot of my buds hunt coues deer there each season.
Alot of elk opportunity too.. but the trophy bull hunts are $$$$$$. Plenty of cow, non trophy, and spike hunts though if you cannot afford the trophy hunt.
Helluva nice chunk of real estate. Beautiful.

Went a few years back for javelina, quail and ducks.....grand total of about $350. Cat and bear tracks everywhere....saw a trophy Coue's too. Going back soon if I can ever get their damn website to work.

Any one know what the deal is with their website?

I have been told the guides are very hit or miss, but we had very good luck with ours. Here is a link to his web site:

Homer Stevens is the man. I hunted with him and Tim for Black Bear and we also chased Mtn Lion with Homer's dogs. It was a great time. Homer can flat out hunt. He knows the 1.8million acres of the reservation like the back of his hand.

They must have changed the regulations because when I hunted there in 2008 there was no hunting allowed with dogs, not even for cats.

We have hunted javalina and get a mountain lion tag too. Pigs have been poor the last two years due to drought. Lots of opportunity on other game. The bear hunt is very interesting according to our guide friend Jimmy Niffen (sp?) They come off the mountains to feed on the desert edge. Spot and stalk hunts in August.
