I've shot several LSS examples in 7-08 and they were VERY accurate. That was after bedding and a trigger tweak.

I've shot owned numerous Mtn Rifles(243,25-06,280,270) in the other models(KS,blued/walnut,S/S synthetic) and all were very accurate.

Though I've never shot or owned in '06,that rifle is fairly famous for it's very good accuracy,on the average. Sounds like a very good buy to me............

rlineb,

My favorite whitetail rifle is a M700SS Mt. Rifle chambered for the .280 Rem. and wearing a nickel Burris Fullfield 3-9x40mm scope.

It's very light, handles well in the field and now that it's had an accuracy job, it turns in .7 to .8MOA 3-shot groups with my 140-grain Nosler Ballistic Tip handloads from a Hart rest when I do my job. $399. is a fair price.

rlineb,
While mine is a blued model, I shoot a M700 Mountain rifle DM in 25-06. The accuracy out of box was good. I had tweeked the trigger to a crisp 3 Lb.s and had it bedded and free floated the bbl(though some recommend you not do this with the thinner bbl.s) and mine shoots great. I feel comfortable shooting out to 500 yards. The rifle is much more accurate that the shooter.

My .270 WIn is a plain jane Mtn rifle and it will put 5 shots inside of 1.25 inches at 100 yards with no accuracy or trigger work. That's with not allowing for time between shots...

Until recently, I had a 30-06 Remington Mtn Rifle in the blued/wood version. It was reasonably accurate (one MOA) and handled well. It was rather hard on the shoulder when using hot 180's, but it was managable.

I grabbed one of those titanium rifles soon as they came out.

This is the first load I shot I load development at 100 yards.

Not bad for a factory gun, it dies even better with some of the loads I have had more time to develop.
