Even though we are just back from Africa my wife could not wait to get to the Deer lease.

We managed to each shoot one duck with our drillings. I will be cooking them in a little while.

We saw several bucks, I saw over 20, including one nice 10 point, and I walked up on 3 pigs.

What I really wanted to shoot was a coyote with my drilling. I called quite a bit, heard several coyotes howling, but no luck.

After using my drilling for the first few days I switched to my Blaser R 93 Tracker in 308 hoping to change my luck.

I also was trying out the Remington 125 gr managed recoil rounds. I had the rifle zeroed with 168 gr Winchester Ballistic Tip ammo and the Remington hit close enoiugh at 100 yards to give it a try.

About 20 or 25 turkeys appeared anbouit 80 yards awa one eveninjg. I shot one of them wioth the 308. The rest flew off, except one that landed about 32 yards away. A quick flick of the Blaser bolt, a tap of the trigger and the turkey was down.

The Rem loads did a great job. I only lost about one Mcdonalds Chicken MC Nuggett on the breast of the first turkey shot. Best of all, the heart, liver, and gizzard were in perfect shape on both birds.

These were hens, as I always shoot a couple of hens for the freezer in the fall. Legal in my part of Texas.

I try to rifle shoot turkeys where the neck and body come together, above the beard on a tom, as the breast is below this location.

I have shot a couple of pigs with Federals 30-06 low recoil load in my drilling, so I thought I would give the Remington Managed recoil load a try. I will try and shoot a doe and a pig with it in Dec to see how it performs.

Recoil is very mild.

I hate you, some of us out here are not doing near as well and I for one don't like having my nose rubbed in it. Ha, ha ,ha. I'm at the bottom right now with no place to go but up. Maybe I can blood my double this year.

You can borrow money, but you can't borrow time. Don't wait, go now.
