I stopped in at the Bass Pro Hunting Classic in Atlanta. What a mistake!! I could not get out of there fast enough. It was packed slam full. The worst part was about 75% of the people there looked like they had no idea about hunting, much less spent a day in the field. More about tourism and shoping, not getting ready for hunting season.

GA DEER HUNTER The Fall Classic in Springfield is a really great time to buy at that store. They have great sales on camo clothes and always have some of their guns marked down at least $100. If you like the seminars that the pros. put on you can learn a lot if you are just getting started in Bowhunting or Black Powder shooting. Hawkeye47

I always enjoyed the one at Concord Mills just Northeast of Charlotte. Lots more of us "Good Ole Boys" showing up there than what GA experienced in Atlanta. Too far away right now to go to it though. But I might just ride up to the Cincinnati store and see what's happening. Got to meet Mr. Chuck Buck(Buck Knives) in Charlotte and tell him how much I've enjoyed abusing his family's knives over the years. He even offered to re-sharpen the one I was carrying, but it was fine. Good steel that takes awhile to get really sharp, but once you do it holds it well. Met some Thompson/Center folks when their new In-Line came out and got to see it early on. Nice design that is being copied by a lot of folks today. Leupold had a nice display and I got to talk to them about their Illuminated Scopes. Though I'll continue to buy their products, their Marketing folks gave the impression they were way too important to be doing a Show. Obviously needed some time in the Un-Employment Line to get their attitudes adjusted. Good events that I enjoyed.

The army aviator is planning to go down.I have found it is best to go early {like 7AM if you want to shop, then you avoid some of the problems of the GA deer Hunter } After shopping you have time for some of the experts classes. If I go on Sat I must be back for a social function at 4PM.
