375erDanner Boots.
Have any of you Danner fans ever had your boots rebuilt by them? I've had a pair of canadians for over 15 years and was thinking of having them resoled, etc. Just wondering what the experince was like? Worth the money vs a new pair??

ShackMy re-building was by a local shoe repair guy. $10 to put a sole back on one that after 15 years needed help.
Just wish I'd gotten size 13s back then instead of 12s. Your feet spread out as you age.

BiebsMay Canadians are still going strong, and have been with me all over the world. Great boots.

FlippyLast I checked (2 years ago) it was just over half the price of a new pair and they replace everything that needs replacing. So pretty much a new pair of boots for half price.

First guys out of bussness might just have to send them back to Danner.

FlippyWhen I worked at Cabela's I got a deal through Danner for a pair of Danner Mojaves for $47. Couldn't beat that.
Decided to just get the old pair resoled as I really wanted a pair of uninsulated boots for warm weather. I use boot dryers, so it keeps my twelve year old boots like new, except for sole wear. I think it was $25 from a reputable shoe repair operation in Eugene to have good soles put on.
I highly recommend buying an economical boot dryer that uses slightly warm air, not just air. My boots can be absolutely soaking wet (it rains like a mother in Oregon) and be 100% dry in just a few hours. It will make your boots last three times as long.

Ask them how much to "rebuild" the boots. Some models are only a few dollars more to have everything completely redone, soles, insoles, eyelets, etc.
In some cases, depending on what needs replaced, they completely disassemble the boots and rebuild them.

375erThanks guys. I have looked at their rebuild program and was wondering if anyone had actually done it. We're you satisfied with the quality of the work, etc???

AnotherAZWriterNot to steal the thread, but I bought a pair of Meindl boots from Cabelas - best boot I have ever bought. Ms AZW got a pair after hearing me rave about them and she just got back from trekking in New Zealand and said they were fantastic.
