After several years of close calls, I finally took my first Eastern bird yesterday afternoon. My friend Mark took me to one of his hot spots and at 4:40pm I took this 22 pound tom with two beards.
Stats: 12 ga Benelli SBE w/stock full choke
Ammo: Federal Mag-Shok w/copper plated #5's
Weight: 22.8 lbs
Beard: # 1: 10" #2: 5"
Spurs: 7/8"
Age: 2 year old bird

L. David KeithThank you guys. I struck again this morning with a 17 lb gobbler. This one also had a double beard and 3 beard hairs that measure 15.25 inches. The rest are your normal 10" class but this is the longest I've yet to see. If you look closely in the photo, you can see the longest hairs.

Lee BrittCongrats on 2 double bearded turkeys! I have killed multiple grand slams and close to 100 turkeys and have never killed a multiple bearded turkey. I've killed one with 4 spurs but no double beards. I've called in/been along on 7 hunts that resulted in the death of a double beard but have never done it myself. Congrats.
