bob, you are always tasking me for the details, which i am glad to provide.
i spotted him at 350 but the wind was really ripping and i ran on him closing the distance to around 160.set up for an off shoulder exit and put one thru him with my 7stw/150 grn nosler balistic tip.he made a 25 yd run before piling up.taped him at 6' 2" on the body and estimated his weight at about 300 lbs.
game warden guessed him at 10 yrs old, incisors were worn and canines squared off.nice mature boar with a few battle scars.
(kinda like the rest of us)

Congrats Ravenr on a beautiful bear!

I am sure Bob in TX is going to be happy to hear about you using the STW, he is a fan, as am I !

You may catch some hell for using the Ballistic Tip on the bear, but IMO it performed the way it was suppose to and that is all that matters.

Great picture, was someone else with you on the hunt or did you head back out to get the picture taken>?

Congratulations on a very nice black bear!

You should know better than to use a ballistic tip bullet, however. Haven't you heard that they don't work on anything but paper? Wink

This is probably the first bear in history ever taken with a btip.
