I and three others locally drew tags for buffalo gap national grasslands for any deer the whole hunt turned out to be quite interesting. After a fine meal of subay at windmill truckstop, Rapid City S.D. we tipped the waiteresses and headed out to the, not yet set up camp and we did that in a horizontal snow flurry at 8' above Zero in a twenty to thirty mile an hour breeze, fun for all, the beer is in the cooler if you dare. BEER? we got no tdime for stinking beer maan, we have deer to kill, later..Maan..........SNAP!!!!! holy DOO DOO Batman look at the size of the Horns. Way Way out there a very big Mule Deer still lives I am quite sure. Mother nature turned off the lights before the stalk was in range. The next day turned up Zero. Except for Seven Two year old Bison Charging over a "peer dune" right at me from 40 yds. Nowhere to go I watched the direction the leader was going and rolled in the oppisite direction when it got to me and they rumbled on by 2 yds away while I hid behind a dirt clod. Yea, rock and roll a 458 or a 470 knock some shit down, Not, I was a packin a 6.5 X 284 Titanium at the time not exactly what I would call buff medicine, felt lucky to not get smashed buy that there tatonka there critter, HA.HA.
