Anyone hunt this unit recently? We put in for a 3rd season tag. Should draw as we have 12 points. Killed a 200 incher in 2005 in the unit. Hunting buddy killed a 175.

Not as recently as you've hunted it but I managed to scrape up a 180" (gross) buck a couple years before you were there.

Good luck in the drawings!

I can take a pic of the mounted deer when I get home. Not sure how to post photo's from a Ipad. Maybe someone can help me out?

It’ll never be as good as it was in 05. The winter kill in the basin in 07/08 was devastating and I don’t think Colorado Parks and Wildlife will let it get back to the way it was with their tag allocations. The good news is the genetics are fantastic and the areas that were good in 05 are still good today. Good habitat is good habitat and that hasn’t changed. The age class is rebounding a little and it’s still a fun hunt but back from 05 to 07 it was some of the best mule deer hunting I’ve ever seen
