Kudu56: I am as appalled as you are by this DISGRACE!
Its different than money just being the motivator and evil in this "situation" - its ego's gone MAD!
Its things like this and the remote computer viewing and lining up of the scopes crosshairs on Game for sale in Texas that literally make me sick and angry at the perpetrators!

Gun Control - A theory espoused by some monumentally stupid people; who claim to believe, against all logic and common sense, that a violent predator who ignores the laws prohibiting them from robbing, raping, kidnapping, torturing and killing their fellow human beings will obey a law telling them that they cannot own a gun.

I don't consider such a thing a "hunt". Doesn't seem any more a hunt to me than going out in the field and shooting a cow. I think this sort of advertising is bad publicity for true hunting.

This is totally disgraceful selling a deer like that on e-bay. However, I bet he sells it to some jackass that has too much money to know what to do with it. And then he will concoct some big hunting story around it.

What an absolute bunch of B.S. To call it a "free range hunt" is unbelievable. I do not see any difference with these deer and cattle.

Anyone who pays 20 g's for this is both unethical and stupid.

I guess the challange to the successful hunter after a grueling stalk and superb shot would be to find an area to take trophy pictures that does not have the high fence or a feeder in the background.

This is what is happening now, It is immediate gratification. No one wants to work for anything anymore. This sickens me, I could go on and on about fair chase and baiting deer and all the other things but this just sickens me. The anti's are going to have a field day with this. And worse some kids somewhere are going to think this is how you kill a trophy. I am sorry to be part of this generation.

Holy cow! For 20 grand you don't even get to cool your heels in the lodge; that's extra.

"a great unique looking rack with an impressive drop tine."

That one snaggle-tooth drop tine looks dorky to me.

I'm ashamed its available in my state. Doesn't say if you are required to purchase a hunting license.

Hank H, thanks for the suggestion. I also left a comment in "ask the seller a question", but I did not attack the man. I asked him to remove his offering from ebay and put it before the hunting public in hunting magazines or booking agents. The man can legally do this "hunt". C'mon folks, let's bend this guy's ear, let him know what you think.

Wow, that's a great deal, but I'm pretty busy... If I offered $21k I wonder if they would shoot it for me and send me the horns and cape. Then I could have it mounted and tell all my friends what a big hunter I am. bull

I have no problem with high fence hunting, but this canned/penned crap makes me sick.

Here is a copy of the message I sent to the seller..

"Carpetman:

How does this work? Do you ship the deer alive to me? Do you let the deer go in the Pocono's with the tag on it and only I can shoot it? Or do I get to shoot the deer from your house thru the fence?"

Jeeze guys, ease up...if you don't like the look of this 240" deer you could always shoot "Locust" or "Hickory" instead....

This is why Montana sportsmen passed I-143, outlawing shooting of penned game and restricting "alternative livestock facilities". I truely pity the pathetic slob who pays for this kind of thing; I can only imagine how the logic that makes him think this is a good idea translates into other parts of his life.

Lhook7, I'm with you, why wouldn't a buyer just have them send them a mount? This isn't remotely a hunt--the word guarantee is what confirms the silliness. Not knowing what kind of critter you're going to see or have an oppurtunity to kill, is what provides the 'juice' that a real hunter craves, along with the culmination of work put in HUNTING, it ain't just killing, and you have to work to get a reward. As one other poster mentioned, it must be some kind of instant gratification thing.

I don't remotely compare this to baiting an animal, as with some species this is the only reasonable way to locate and find them during legal hunting times, I only hunt over any kind of bait for one of the critters that I hunt, food plots for whitetail--which I do consider a kind of baiting, but there's a lot of work in figuring out where to set up, building the plots in the first place, and timing when a big boy might chase a doe into said plot.

It is amazing to me the $ that some of these pen raised (and apparently shot) whitetails fetch. I'll settle for my in the woods whitetails with a bow that score 110 or so, and I have to work my ass off to get a shot at one of them!

I don't like the drop tine either BTW.....

This was my response or questions to the happy seller:

Since the shipping is free, would you mind shipping the live deer to my home so that I can turn him free? I have a 5000 acres I'm sure he'd be happy on. Also, before you allow someone to chase down this 'free-ranging animal', would you mind taking the tag out of his ear? You can buy a tag remover for about $0.99 at your local co-op. I'm sure you have your reasons for putting something like this on ebay but it is things like this that give the animal activists fuel for their fires. It is reasons like this that we ethical hunters get a bad rap. I cetainly hope you don't hunt because I would hate to be placed into the same category as you. Then again, I'm no where in your league, because I can 'guarantee' you that I'm a hunter, unlike yourself and the poor bastard that buys this deer!

You know if he would throw in the house I might buy the deer! I guess if you could get him home to your ranch or farm, he would sure put some genetics in the local herd! clap

Pathetic.
I clicked on seller's other items. He has a mounted one that scores 180 you can buy for 4 thousand and a mounted one that scores 205 that you can buy for 4500. On top of that he only wants 200 to ship a mount.
There youi go have it shipped to you and save about 15 grand.
I would like to know what this guy is smoking.

To steal an idea from another thread....I wonder what that guy would charge me for a damn Bigfoot hunt???? And not just a little one either...I want a big ass bigfoot. Perhaps I should specify a potbellied one so he can't run too fast and chase my old ass down.

I'll get back to you on this idea.

My bet...
He's using his wife as a front so he can get benefits for a "Female owned business", I mean, why should questionable ethics stop at the hunting... shame

A nice buck whitetail, that could be yours for a cool $20000. All you would need to do, is buy a carrot to feed to him while you load up the ol' rifle.

Pretty sad that things have gone this far!

I'm sure it was removed because of Greybird's questionairre, with suggestions as to his/her ethics where hunting is concerened! What cha think?

Now gentlemen, this is a perfect example of a real CANNED hunt, not the all inclusive definitions given by the PeTA Heads! To them if it's hunting in any form, it's canned!

This one is the real deal. Just go down the minue of pictures, and pick the one you want, and he will be turned out for you, and they will even furnish the carrot to keep him still while you aim! This has nothing to do with fences,or hunting or baiting, or useing dogs, or any of the things PetA finds repulsive, at all,and here I agree with them. This is simply a slaughter house for venison, and horns, for a bag of wind to display in his den to empress his friends, who don't know any better! thumbdown

I don't know if my comments were the reason for removing the advertized sale but I would think they played a role in its removal. I noticed last night they had two other deer on there for sale a 220 and a 210 class deer. I didn't make any further comments because I felt as though I expressed my comments on the first sale.

I just went and checked the other items for sale by the owner and they had removed all the deer hunts they were advertizing. They do still have a couple mounts for sale if you're interested.

I agree 100% but obviously someone wants them or they wouldn't sell.
