My girlfriend and I took a "spur of the moment" trip to Alaska last month. Not a hunting trip....but I was able to get some great wildlife/scenery photos that I thought you guys might enjoy. We also did some salmon fishing.

We spent the majority of the time on the Kenai Peninsula, but also took a float plane into Lake Clark National Park and toured Crescent Lake for bear viewing. It was truly the most beautiful place I've ever been in my entire life, and we both cannot wait to go back!

If any of you need charter plane, I highly recommend Alaska West Air out of Nikiski, AK.

I hope you guys enjoy the photos....

Hunting in Africa is an adventure. The number of variables involved preclude the possibility of a perfect hunt. Some problems will arise. How you decide to handle them will determine how much you enjoy your hunt.

Just tell yourself, "it's all part of the adventure." Remember, if Robert Ruark had gotten upset every time problems with Harry
Selby's flat bed truck delayed the safari, Horn of the Hunter would have read like an indictment of Selby. But Ruark rolled with the punches, poured some gin, and enjoyed the adventure.

Not at all...

I'm using a Nikon D5300 with a Nikkor 55-300mm lens and a Sigma 10-20mm wide angle lens. Nothing fancy, but it takes great photos.

I really like the picture of the bear that's right after the air shot of the winding river flowing into the inlet. A bit of an intent look. Great photos.

Quite excellent photos, Wade. I'm with Ann; salmon heading upstream is quality stuff.

Do you shoot raw? Modify white balance and use color profiles in post?

Great color.

I don't shoot in RAW...just in the highest quality jpeg. I do adjust the white balance and shadows...and sometimes slightly tweak saturation if needed. I use Adobe Lightroom for processing.
