Here is a the result of the above load on a smaller mule deer (80) pounds or so. I call this a great hit. Crazy thing though is that this deer took a good minute to drop. Immediately after the first shot we were trying to get another deer with this one. Lots of bloodshot across the ribs and at least one secondary hole from a piece of the jacket. H&R single shot 20 guage slug barrel 24" -------------------- THANOS WAS RIGHT!

It got the job done.... I'm not surprised that it took a while. Pretty minimal damage compared to some slugs. I would guess minimal expansion, but good placement makes up for it. MFH

out of hundreds of deer I have process and feild dress. Looking at damage done by fire arms projectiles deer shot through the lungs and heart can and do run up to about 100 yards. I seen deer with nice neat holes and then with their lungs and heart turned to mush run aways. Then I seen them DRT, take my wifes 8 pointer shot a couple of days ago at 15 feet with 185 gr corlok 8mm at 2550fps. Blew the heart to mush deer ran 40 yards. Always always check for a hit no matter how fast they run off.
