This is a recovered bullet from a deer the year before that was hit at the base of the neck and the bullet was found resting against the rear ham. The deer was shot head on at under 50 yards.

Great shot at 189 yards. Is that a rifled barrel?

Good shooting! Forty years ago next month my uncle Ron demonstrated to me the effectiveness of the 20 gauge slug by killing a buck with one shot through the lungs at a measured 256 yards. His 30's vintage Remington pump didn't even have a front bead sight.

Quite the hole too.

I'm finding myself reconsidering the shotgun slug...

I believe it's +3.5 at 100, 0 at 150 and -8.5 at 200.

Our farthest ever was the very first one at 198 yards. Most are around 110.

Very good ad for Hornady! 20 or 12 are hard slugs to surpass.

I bought my two sons Mossberg 500's and I want to try a rifled barrel on them with the 12 gauge version.

My daughter shot two deer last year with regular federal sabot slugs. They look like a solid lead hollow point. Both deer were one shot kills at around 60 yards.
