I have been shooting my new Browning Bar Light semi automatic today and the precision is so good that i can shoot head shoots on moose at 100 yards And i also shoot a fast test 4 shoots at 4 seconds in to a target big like my fist at 80 yards. I think that this rifle is a good stopping rifle for bears... What do you think guys....?

what happened to your 700 Nitro, 575 t-rex and all those others? ------------------ When in doubt, do a nuclear strike.

Sounds like your rifle is quick handling and accurate enough but I feel the '06 is a bit lacking to be qualified as a bear stopper. It will work fine with a good stout bullet when used on an unexcited bear but to stop a charge on a bear of any size, it would fail quite often without a brain shot. To be a good stopper, caliber and bullet weight mean as much as velocity ever would. Don't get me wrong, the old '06 will do great for hunting anything non-dangerous at reasonable ranges. Hi Overkill, my hero!! If you're late, you also need a rifle that can stop the train, or a Jumbo-jet!! (Then we're really talking about stopping power.) If you're goal is to going around shooting "headshots" on moose, i belive you'll sooner or later need a good tracking dog!! ------------------ Arild. I am going to use it on moose hunting 150-250 kg. And with Norma Oryx 180 grain bullets. And i think that if a bear is running at me from 30 m i can shoot 3-4 shoot and that should stop a bear....!

If something was closing in on me fast that could bite me, I would want a bigger gun, period. You can almost never be overgunned. Good luck and good shooting
