I do a similar thing her in the land of the PX. According to federal law and federal and state regulations no citizens are to be favored or discriminated against because of sex, race, religion, national origin, or sexual preference.
So anytime I'm asked by or required by some governmental agency or private concern to name my national origin I put down 'Native American'
I was born here so were my parents, grandparents, greatgrandparents, that makes me a native!
It does mess up any records these folks are keeping, skues the statistics, etc.
Todays motto is baffle and befuddle a buracrate.
