Turok, whats the matter with calling people what they are or the common names that they are known as.. You call white people white? I call Canadians Canadians and Texans Texans, and Indians Indians, and Chineese Chineese. Whats the difference. What do you want to do, put a bag over everyones head and give them a number. Call me whatever you want, I don't care. Call me a honkey/wagon burner as I have some native blood, I don't take offence and I certainly don't use it as a race card like many others. I'm just another citizen of this earth just as you are and a Canadian foremost. Get over it. Everyone has had shit fall on their race/nationality one time or another.

Turok,

Whether you like it or not the facts are that we all have characteristics that are determined by our "race"

For example, if I want a woman with big tits and a broad arse do you think Sydney's China Town would be a good place to look. Perhaps I could go to Cabramatta, our Vietnamese centre

I run an insurance sales business and I can tell that Asians, no matter how many generations they have been Australia, buy things in a different manner. They actually process the information differently. Even in the case of medical specialists where the filter is so long and so fine the Asian that pops out the other end is different.

On the other hand Arabs born in Australia and especially Arabs whose parents were born in Australia seem very similar to the anglo type Australia.

Two days before Christmas, 1984, a 37-year-old self-employed electrical engineer named Bernhard Goetz descended into New York City's subway system at the 14th Street Station and boarded the IRT's No. 2 Express. The thin, bespectacled Goetz found himself in the same car with four black teenagers -- James Ramseur, 19, Darrell Cabey, 19, Troy Canty, 19, and Barry Allen, 18. When Canty told Goetz to give him five dollars, Goetz stood up, drew a .38 caliber Smith & Wesson revolver from under his blue windbreaker, and began shooting. All four youths were wounded, two of them critically. Goetz slipped away at the Chambers Street Station, rented a car and drove to Bennington, Vermont, where he disposed of the pistol and the windbreaker in the woods. A week later, on New Year's Eve, he turned himself in at the Concord, New Hampshire police station. By then the "Subway Vigilante" had become a national celebrity.

Goetz's confession to police, in which he admitted that his intention was "to murder them, to hurt them, to make them suffer," and that he had coldly and methodically fired a second round into an already wounded Darrell Cabey.

it's amazing how we view cases based on race. here, goetz actually went in the subways intending to kill some blacks. he shoots 4 individuals and he has the sympathy of the general public (if he had an sks there would have been 4 dead). in vang's, he did not intentionally go out to kill whites. but, as things transpired, he ended up shooting 8 and killing 6. now, we have the Hmong community apologizing for the tragedy and several in the white community throwing racial slurs.

i got my nomex on!!!!!

Seafire,

Again you posit the race card in your post. If you truly want equality, quit stating the race of the people in your posts.

The media you speak of are as guilty of this as you are. They almost always state the race of people in their reports e.g. Black, and in Canada, Native, Indian, First Nation etc. However, they never state that an Irish, Italian, French, English, Jewish the list goes on person committed X crime, or is guilty of X felony; is it because people of these nationalities never commit crimes? Absolutely not!

Criminologists have very clearly shown the discrepancies in the legal system when it comes to white people and when it comes to all other minorities. Conviction rates are continually higher for anyone who falls into the non-white category.

Slanderous is a word that implies wrongful, false and harmful, but with your views, and the assertion of race when it comes to talking about people, is anything but. Equality means just that. Everyone is equal. Perhaps I could buy your cries for equality if you were to leave out the race aspects.

Most media when they are reporting, name the race when discussing a minority subject because people assume that if race is not mentioned, it is obviously assumed that the suspect is a member of the majority race in that medias coverage area. If the media in Japan are reporting on someone, they don't usually say the guy was of the yellow race, unless they aren't, then of course they state the race/nationality. It only makes sense. It helps people understand who they are talking about.
