Hunting in Africa is an adventure. The number of variables involved preclude the possibility of a perfect hunt. Some problems will arise. How you decide to handle them will determine how much you enjoy your hunt.

Just tell yourself, "it's all part of the adventure." Remember, if Robert Ruark had gotten upset every time problems with Harry
Selby's flat bed truck delayed the safari, Horn of the Hunter would have read like an indictment of Selby. But Ruark rolled with the punches, poured some gin, and enjoyed the adventure.

Today was the last day of the season.

I finished with five antlerless mule deer one whitetail doe and a whitetail buck and an antlerless elk.

One mulie doe with my bow

Three mulie does with a 12 gauge 870. Two with slugs and one with buckshot.

One mulie doe with a Herters J9 mauser 300 win mag and 180 partition pp handload.

One whitail doe with a Weatherby Vanguard 300 win mag and 200 Sierra bt handload.

Whitetail buck with a Rem CDL 300 RUM and a 182 grain E-Tip factory second handload

Cow elk with a Howa 308 win and Sierra 165 gameking HP handload.
