Have the opportunity to do a mule deer hunt around Wells, Nevada. It's definitely not a freebie (tags, flight, car rental, hotel). It's a last minute deal and I haven't been able to do much research on it.
Anyone know this area? What size mule deer would you expect to harvest?
Thanks

If you put some work in and have a little weather there are some good bucks to be had. I think DIY, in unfamiliar country, a 20" wide 3x3 and up is a realistic goal. Got a 23" 4x4 between Wells and Elko year before last.

nw of Wells is Jarbridge. It's on the top end of the Bruneau River. Darker-colored Muleys.
I hunt on the north side of the Idaho line in that area and there's deer. Odds of a 4x4 is maybe 1 in 5, if you have a few days.

Bluefin: The best shot a decent buck in the Wells area is up through the O'Neil basin. That being said, two mountain ranges that produce are the Snakes and the Granite ranges. As previously mention you will need some weather to get the deer moving. Things in that area have been pretty slow due to range burn off over the last couple of years. Not hard to fill a meat tag, but trophy animals are a lot harder to come by.
