Hello Gentlemen, I try my luck on this forum also, since no one had any information in the European section. Someone has to sell these in the US or Canada, at least! So: Would any of you know where I could find these devices for making moose skull mounts. I don't know what they are called officially, but they are made to keep the animal's skull in right positon during sawing and they look like this: http://www.profi-jagd.com/catalog/popup_image.php?pID=147 The one in the picture is for deer or elk, but I'd need one especially for moose. Actually I'd need many of them. Any location and contact information will do, both Europe and the US. Thank you.

JTH, I don't want to dampen your enthousiasm, but I have one for fallow deer and one for roe deer. I probably prepare a dozen heads of each per year and after trying that thing out I went straight back to the fine tooth bone saw and freehand method. That contraption is made form great theory, but the saw that comes with it is too flimsy as is the rest of the unit. If you could get a sturdyer saw and a heavier overall construction it would be great, even better would be something you could lock into a vice. If you're unsure about getting the cut right the first time, first cut the skull low and boil it out. Once it's clean and dry, (bleached or not), you can touch it up and make it level with oe of those mini angle grinders.
