Here's another hunter who was in camp with us with his black wolf, a beautiful female. Also, Norm with his last day, last afternoon old male. Norm used his 270 that Dave Bruno put together for him. He had his old model 78 (?) blueprinted, added a Jewel trigger at 2 pounds, H-S Precision stock, and a 24" #3 Lilja 3 groove. He used factory Hornady 140 SSTs:

I am currently reading, just started in fact, The Crossing by Cormac McCarthy. His descriptions of wolves and trapping them are heightened by these great pictures.
