Have you every been consistently successful in calling deer. I am not talking about rattling deer. I am talking about calling them with the various deer calls that are available on the market. By "consistently" I mean that you have called at least 3 deer with the same call to within shooting range.

A grunt call has been effective many times.

A bleat call yes, no, and maybe.

I have grunted several bucks in an killed them with a bow. My success is much better if I can see the deer rather than randomly grunting away though I have had success doing just that. While on stand in pre rut and rut I often throw a grunt series out every 15 minutes or so. If I see a buck I snort wheeze prior to grunting at him. One thing to bear in mind deer as a rule do not just rush into calls like they do rattling often times you may think that you were not heard or ignored but it is just the nature of the beast to take their good old time coming into calls.
My son and grandson are masters of fawn in distress calls with their own vocal cords and harvest a dozen does each year here on the farm doing just that.

Yes and no.

At times, it makes no difference what one does. Nothing will work. At other times , the bucks are more receptive. Yes, I have done it at times. The same call ata different time is useless.

I've been calling mule deer for almost 30 years now. Never called in a big buck, but if/when bucks are with does, it's the does that come in and bucks follow. It is very effective.

I've used a predator call in west Texas for both whitetail and mulies. When you are looking over a canyon it will get them up and sometimes they will come right to you... mostly does but bucks will get out of their beds to take a look.

On the plains of hesitation lie the bleached bones of ten thousand, who on the dawn of victory lay down their weary heads resting, and there resting, died.

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch...
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!

I’ve used a grunt call named the “Bowgrunter Plus” by Away Outdoors foy years. It’s adjustable to mimic a fawn, a doe or a buck. It’s unique in that you inhale, not exhale, so it doesn’t freeze up from your saliva. I’ve killed several bucks using it.
