Just got back from my DIY bear hunt in the Swan Valley , MT. No bears were to be seen, but abundant elk and mulies. Whitetails behind every tree it seemed. Road mountain bikes on the deactivated logging roads from 4-16 miles each day and then drove the regular logging roads during the day. Found some nice green up areas but not sure where the bears were. Most of the snow was gone and dabbled at the lake trying to catch some Northerns, but was skunked. Had a great time and enjoyed the scenery immensely even though no bears were espyed. Has anyone been in the Swan recently?

I was there the weekend before last on the south side of Placid lake. No sign of any kind.
